Perils Of Internet Classifieds
2009 November 6
In this week’s issue of the Portland Mercury, I took a look at Craigslist’s housing ads, and some of the discriminatory posts on that site. People are incredibly particular about who they want to live with. If you’re looking for something to do while you should be working, browse through your local Craigslist ads for shared housing. Fun fact: it’s easier to find drug-friendly housing than you’d think!
Or, if you want to be really disturbed, you can browse your local casual encounters listsings. Don’t say I didn’t warn you…

I think this is a really interesting story. Good work.
You know I was bored at work and decided to take some time, and it is pretty entertaining.
you need to check out this one though. Who would want to live there?

good one. nice graphic, too.
No pregos or cripples but Bad Religion the band is completely welcome.
As I prepare to move to Salt Lake (aka the International Mormon Capital), I’ve ventured on Craig’s List to find housing. I agree, posts are very particular and in some cases inappropriate. But, in my case, it’s been very fortunate. For someone who is not LDS, I greatly appreciate the people who blatantly say they won’t live with people who smoke, drink or get naked with the opposite sex. It prevents a lot of, uh, awkward encounters.
